Spay/Neuter Clinics
Clinic size ranges from 50 to 100 cats, dependent upon the site and the number of volunteer veterinarians available. Cats must be pre-registered and brought to the clinic in traps for admission - cats in carriers will be turned away. This is for the safety of our clinic staff as well as the safety of the cat. See information below.
• Spay/Neuter Clinics for Feral and Stray Cats
The purpose of the clinic is to sterilize and vaccinate as many feral cats as possible. Clinics are always held on a Sunday. Services are offered to all individuals aiding feral cats including - but not limited to - trappers, feral cat colony caretakers, individuals feeding and/or caring for feral cat(s).
Qualified Cats
- Homeless, unowned and free-roaming un-socialized feral cats
- At least 4 lbs. (due to the anesthesia used)
- Appears healthy
- To be released back into its home colony, which will be managed
Non-Qualified Cats
- Owned or possibly owned
- To be adopted out or in foster care waiting possible placement
- To be euthanized by an animal control facility
- Does not appear healthy
Clinic treatments include: A brief examination, spay/neuter, rabies and distemper vaccines, flea and earmite treatments, and the left ear is tipped (1/4" is taken off the top of the ear) for identification that the cat has been sterilized and vaccinated. No other diagnostic services or treatments are given. Tests for FIV and Feline Leukemia are not done. Additional diagnostic services or treatments, testing for FIV and FeLV may be performed at the discretion of the volunteer veterinarian(s) participating in the clinic. Cats must be brought to and picked up at the Clinic site. The cats must be in a trap (no cat carriers) and must not have eaten in the last 12 hours.

Clinics are specifically for cats that will never be treated by a veterinarian due to their feral nature or the financial burdens of their caregivers.
We rely on donations of time, financial support and in-kind materials and services from volunteers and caring community members, groups and organizations. Your help is appreciated!
